Groove Dance Apartment

Groove Dance Apartment is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of dance-inspired aesthetics with functional living spaces, completed in October 2020 in Taichung City. This 165-square-meter apartment's distinctive design philosophy revolves around the concept of groove and rhythm, manifested through an elaborate system of curved architectural elements and flowing spatial arrangements. The interior architecture features a sophisticated ceiling design with three varying heights, strategically implemented to mitigate the visual impact of large structural beams while creating a dynamic sense of rhythm throughout the space. The apartment's layout encompasses three bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, a dressing room, and three bathrooms, all unified by an elegant curved design language that breaks away from traditional rectangular spatial constraints. A notable feature is the innovative entrance design, which incorporates stage-like elements through reflective mirror materials and strategic lighting, creating a theatrical transition between public and private spaces. The master bedroom showcases a curved wall treatment that embraces the bed area, enhanced by bronze metallic finishes and blue reflective surfaces that create an understated luxurious atmosphere. The design's versatility is exemplified in the guest room's movable curved glass door, which can transform the space to extend the dining and living areas when needed. This exceptional interior design project, created by designers Ding Jia Chen and Yu Chiao Chou, was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its outstanding contribution to residential interior design innovation. The project's success lies in its ability to translate the fluid movements of dance into architectural elements while maintaining practical functionality and creating an environment that promotes both elegant living and spatial efficiency.
