Grey With Curved Residential

Grey With Curved Residential

Grey with Curved Residential is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of natural elements with contemporary living spaces, completed in February 2021 in Taichung, Taiwan. The design's distinctive feature lies in its sophisticated implementation of arc-shaped and wave-shaped elements, drawing inspiration from the maritime environment to create a profound connection with the client's seaside lifestyle. The four-story residential space showcases an open-plan design philosophy, where the living room, dining room, and kitchen are strategically arranged along a single axis to optimize spatial flow and natural light penetration. The project demonstrates exceptional material selection, primarily utilizing wood veneer, mineral paint, and marble, with particular attention paid to environmental considerations and health benefits for the residents. The design incorporates sophisticated technical solutions to address coastal environmental challenges, particularly in the application of mineral paints with specialized maintenance protocols to preserve their breathability and aesthetic integrity. Notable architectural features include a 325cm ceiling height and thoughtfully concealed structural elements through curved design elements, creating a seamless visual experience. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, stands out for its innovative approach to light management, utilizing gaps between wooden pillars and cabinets as light guide outlets to create dynamic natural illumination while maintaining privacy. The design's sophisticated gray color palette, combined with curved architectural elements, creates a therapeutic environment that promotes stress relief and emotional well-being, while the integration of eco-friendly materials and LED lighting systems demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainable design practices.
