Gray Territory Commercial Space
Gray Territory Commercial Space is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of industrial aesthetics with modern commercial functionality, specifically designed for a pet grooming center. The project, conceived and executed by designer Tsung-Ju Wu, demonstrates sophisticated spatial planning within approximately 76 square meters, featuring a thoughtfully divided layout encompassing a welcoming area, working space, and employee lounge. The design's distinctive characteristics include large-scale glass floor-to-ceiling windows that create a seamless visual connection between the reception and working areas, while an EPOXY floor design mimicking water ripples enhances the space's visual flow and depth. The interior's material palette combines wood fiber, cultural stone, and specialized stone paint treatments, with particular attention paid to preserving and highlighting the building's original texture through black-painted walls that emphasize its industrial heritage. The design successfully addresses the challenges of an elongated space through innovative circular layouts on the first floor, effectively minimizing spatial wastage, while the ground floor maintains an open configuration ideal for pet photography sessions. The project, completed in 2017 in New Taipei City, Taiwan, garnered recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial innovation and functional design solutions. The sophisticated use of gray-scale tones, contrasting black and white elements, and strategic lighting design creates an atmosphere that balances professional functionality with aesthetic refinement, setting a new standard for contemporary pet service facilities.
