Gorgeous Landscape Interior Design
Gorgeous Landscape Interior Design is an award-winning interior design project completed in 2017 that masterfully integrates oriental aesthetics with contemporary spatial design principles in a large-scale restaurant setting in Taipei City, Taiwan. The design, conceived by Shih-Hsien Yuan and Yuan-Xiang Jaing, spans an impressive 3,186 square meters and exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional Chinese cultural elements with modern architectural features. The project's cornerstone philosophy draws from the oriental principle of wu-wei (acting by doing nothing), seamlessly incorporating elements of Confucianism and traditional popular culture into its aesthetic vocabulary. A defining feature of the space is its spectacular 30-meter-long floor-to-ceiling glass installation that creates a magnificent visual connection between the interior and exterior environments. The design's sophisticated spatial organization includes dramatic spiral staircases connecting multiple levels, while a central pool area featuring an artistically positioned deadwood installation serves as a focal point, creating a profound natural atmosphere within the restaurant setting. Despite accommodating over 700 seats, the design maintains an intimate atmosphere through thoughtfully crafted vistas and carefully delineated spaces using elements such as wavy gray marble, glass screens with black ironwork, and traditional Chinese decorative elements including woodworks, vertical grilles, medicine cabinets, horse posts, and lanterns. The project, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional achievement in spatial design through its innovative use of installation art, multiple vista points, and sophisticated material selection, creating a harmonious balance between functionality and aesthetic excellence.
