Gold Mantis Business School Business School is an innovative educational facility design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional cultural elements with modern architectural principles. Located within a university campus in Suzhou, this comprehensive business education complex spans an impressive 27,639.42 square meters, incorporating state-of-the-art classrooms, multi-functional lecture halls, reading rooms, and dining facilities capable of accommodating 1,000 students simultaneously. The design philosophy centers on reshaping, transformation, and transcendence, manifesting through a careful integration of corporate and campus cultures within its spatial arrangement. The interior design demonstrates exceptional attention to sustainable practices, employing innovative material choices such as fireproof board and melamine board in place of conventional wood veneer, while maintaining aesthetic excellence. A particularly notable architectural feature includes the bold renovation of the corridor system, where partial floor removal creates a dramatic void space reminiscent of collegiate gothic architecture. The project, completed in 2017 under the leadership of designer Chunhua Ji and team, received recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its outstanding contribution to educational facility design. The space successfully balances functional requirements with aesthetic considerations, creating an environment that promotes academic excellence while maintaining a strong connection to cultural heritage through its thoughtful design elements and spatial organization.
