Glaze Hair Salon

Glaze Hair Salon

Glaze Hair Salon is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies sophisticated spatial design through its harmonious integration of natural elements and luxurious materials. Located in Taiwan, this 93-square-meter salon space masterfully combines dark-toned timber slatting systems, natural marble textures, and golden brass glazing to create an atmosphere of refined elegance. The design, conceived by Jacksam Yang and Steven Kuo, demonstrates exceptional material orchestration where four distinct elements - timber, marble, brass, and natural patterns - converge to establish a cohesive aesthetic narrative. The space's distinctive character emerges through its innovative layering technique, where carefully considered lighting effects interact with various material surfaces to evoke dynamic ambient conditions throughout the day. The interior architecture employs a sophisticated slatting system in dark timber that provides both aesthetic appeal and functional zoning, while the integration of natural marble introduces organic patterns and textural depth. The strategic use of golden brass glazing elements adds luminosity and warmth to the space, creating subtle reflections that enhance the overall spatial experience. This thoughtfully executed design earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial planning, material selection, and innovative approach to contemporary salon design. The project showcases a remarkable understanding of how materiality and lighting can transform a commercial space into an environment that balances functionality with aesthetic sophistication.
