Glass Core Lobby is an innovative architectural interior design project that exemplifies the seamless integration of vertical transportation and spatial experience in contemporary commercial architecture. Located in Jiaxing, China, this three-story spatial composition encompasses a sophisticated arrangement of office, reception, and brand display areas, distinguished by its remarkable 18-meter-high central elevator core that serves as both a functional element and an artistic centerpiece. The design, created by Kris Lin and Interior Designer Anda Yang, transforms the conventional notion of vertical circulation into an immersive journey through what has been conceptualized as a time tunnel corridor. The elevator space features a pioneering combination of steel structure technology supporting translucent glass panels inlaid with metal materials, creating an ethereal effect reminiscent of white jade with gold accents. This luminous vertical core serves as a wayfinding beacon, guiding visitors from the first-floor entrance to the third-floor lobby while offering a transformative spatial experience. The project, which spans 1000 square meters, demonstrates exceptional spatial planning through its rectangular ambulatory plane staircase design that complements the elevator core, offering users multiple circulation options while enriching the flowing lines of the space. The design, which garnered a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases innovative solutions to accessibility challenges while creating a memorable architectural statement that serves as a sophisticated reception area for a prominent urban development.
