Gin Bar

Gin Bar is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the fusion of ancient Roman architectural elements with contemporary hospitality spaces, completed in September 2022 in Xi'an, China. This 200-square-meter establishment, designed by Yixi Liu, represents a sophisticated interpretation of cocktail culture through its thoughtful architectural and atmospheric elements. The design draws significant inspiration from Etruscan architecture, incorporating masonry, ceramic components, and distinctive arch structures that pay homage to ancient Roman civilization while maintaining a modern sensibility. The space is anchored by a centrally positioned bar counter featuring elegant streamlined shapes, complemented by strategically placed candlelight that creates an atmosphere of refined leisure. The interior's material palette includes handmade coarse ceramic brick walls, textured stucco coating, and granite surfaces, all working in harmony to establish a sophisticated ambiance that bridges historical and contemporary design elements. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases innovative spatial organization through its thoughtful integration of Art Deco influences, evident in its symmetrical geometric compositions and careful attention to lighting design. The bar's design philosophy emphasizes the creation of a spiritual habitat for urban dwellers, offering a contemplative space where molecular mixology and architectural heritage converge to create a unique hospitality experience.
