Gignit Coffee and side tables is an award-winning furniture collection that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of natural elements with contemporary design aesthetics. Created in Portugal between June and September 2014, this sophisticated ensemble comprises two coffee tables and one side table, each featuring a distinctive combination of rosewood and Parapan volumetric components supported by a stainless steel structure finished in golden nickel. Drawing inspiration from nature and the four seasons, while incorporating Art Deco influences with a modern twist, the collection showcases asymmetric geometrical volumes that create a striking visual impact. The main piece, Gignit I, is a low coffee table measuring 1200 x 1200 x 450 mm, featuring a rounded triangular design with varying heights of 400 mm and 360 mm that creates an illusion of floating elements. Gignit II, the rectangular coffee table, measures 450 x 1050 x 520 mm, while Gignit III, the side table, complements the set with dimensions of 600 x 500 x 300 mm. A notable design feature includes a non-removable tray integrated into one of the tops, demonstrating the collection's commitment to both aesthetics and functionality. The design, which earned an Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2015, successfully overcomes complex structural challenges while maintaining an elegant balance between contrasting materials, creating what can be described as an exquisite functional sculpture that enriches any interior space.
