Ggaedok Study Supplement
Ggaedok Study Supplement is an innovative educational resource designed to enhance Korean language learning through a sophisticated combination of visual design and pedagogical elements. The system, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Education, Teaching Aid and Training Content Design category, represents a significant advancement in educational material design through its integration of thoughtful branding and student engagement strategies. The name itself is derived from the Korean phrase Ggaewooja Dokhaeryuk, embodying the goal of awakening students' confidence and reading comprehension abilities. The design incorporates distinctive quotation marks that cleverly mirror Korean consonants and vowels, creating a visual synergy between the linguistic elements and graphic design. The comprehensive learning system consists of vocabulary and reading comprehension books, featuring carefully considered dimensions of 188 x 257 x 11mm and 220 x 280 x 10mm respectively, with specialized matte coating and color foil applications using specific Pantone colors to enhance visibility and aesthetic appeal. The implementation of recurring characters throughout both the vocabulary and reading comprehension components provides an engaging learning experience, while the growing character motif visually represents the incremental nature of skill development. The design's technical execution demonstrates particular attention to production quality, utilizing glossy and half-matte foils to create a sophisticated visual hierarchy that supports the learning objectives while maintaining professional aesthetics suitable for educational materials.
