Gere Multifunctional Crockery Shelf

Gere Multifunctional Crockery Shelf

Gere Multifunctional Crockery Shelf is an innovative furniture design that seamlessly integrates storage functionality with decorative elements, revolutionizing traditional kitchen organization concepts. This ingenious design, created by German designer Florian Beser, transforms conventional crockery storage by incorporating specially designed plates as integral components of the shelf's front facade, creating a distinctive relief-like aesthetic while maximizing space utilization. The system consists of a modular oak wood framework, chosen for its durability and water resistance, combined with precisely engineered porcelain plates measuring 240mm x 240mm x 20mm. The design's sophisticated functionality allows individual rows to be folded down, providing access to both the decorative front plates and additional storage space behind them. The plates themselves feature thoughtfully segmented surfaces for separate food placement, enhancing their practical utility. This space-efficient solution, which earned the Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, addresses contemporary challenges of diminishing living spaces through its adaptable dimensions and scalable configuration options. The design's innovative approach to kitchen storage demonstrates exceptional material integration, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern production techniques including 3D printing and porcelain casting, while its modular nature enables customization based on household size and specific storage needs.
