Geosong Residential Building
Geosong Residential Building is an innovative residential architecture project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of natural landscape elements with contemporary architectural design. Located in a hilly area of Kanagawa, Japan, this remarkable structure spans a site area of 990.09m² with a total floor area of 2,361.50m², embodying a sophisticated interpretation of geological formations and natural water elements in its design. The building's exterior features a distinctive gradation of blue and green colored strata and faults extending skyward, drawing inspiration from the surrounding clear blue skies and verdant park landscape. The facade demonstrates dynamic visual qualities, changing its appearance based on viewing angles and natural light conditions, creating an engaging dialogue with its environment. The entrance hall is particularly noteworthy for its illuminated polygonal recesses adorning both ceiling and walls, representing miniature hills and sloping strata while incorporating eco-friendly aluminum elements to evoke flowing spring water. This Iron A' Design Award-winning project in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category showcases innovative spatial design through its integration of rough textures reminiscent of earth's uplifting power, combined with shiny metal sheets that create ever-changing patterns of light and shadow. The building's design philosophy emphasizes sustainability and environmental harmony, utilizing the natural topography to create a structure that not only serves its residential purpose but also stands as an architectural testament to the power and beauty of natural formations. The juxtaposition of various textures and materials throughout the building creates a rich tapestry of visual and spatial experiences, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail in both exterior and interior spaces.
