Geometric Aesthetics Residential House

Geometric Aesthetics Residential House is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of Eastern Zen philosophy with contemporary spatial design principles, created by designer Shun-Yuan Chang in Taoyuan, Taiwan. This 70-square-meter (21-ping) dwelling masterfully integrates stone materials with warm wood elements, employing a sophisticated color palette that combines black and gray tones with the subtle Morandi color system to achieve a sense of tranquility and spatial magnitude. The design's distinctive approach to space optimization incorporates ingenious solutions such as a retractable wall bed that merges reading and sleeping areas, elevated wooden floors for additional storage, and a spring-loaded tableboard that enables flexible use of the bar area. The project's architectural language is characterized by clean geometric forms, featuring an integrated TV wall design that visually extends the living room space, while the maximized ceiling height enhances the sense of openness in communal areas. The design successfully accommodates three bedrooms and two living spaces while maintaining a strong emphasis on storage functionality and aesthetic coherence. Notable features include an innovative electrical cabinet system with varying orientations to maximize kitchen efficiency, vertically rising door hardware to minimize spatial interference, and connecting sliding glass doors that create visual expansion of the dining area. This exemplary work in residential interior design was recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2020, acknowledging its excellence in combining functional efficiency with aesthetic sophistication while maintaining the core principles of Zen-inspired spatial harmony.
