Genetic Fabrication
Genetic Fabrication is a process in Bio Design where living organisms are programmed to grow materials with specific shapes, colors, or textures by changing their genetic code. Designers can use this method to make things like furniture or fabrics that grow themselves from cells, using instructions written in DNA. This approach allows for the creation of objects that can repair themselves or adapt to their environment, because the living material keeps growing and changing. Some projects use bacteria or yeast to grow leather-like materials or even bricks, which means the final product can be made with less waste and energy than traditional manufacturing.
