Generative Form-Finding

Generative Form-Finding in architectural exploration uses simple rules or digital tools to let shapes grow and change on their own, often by following patterns found in nature or by reacting to forces like gravity or wind. Designers can set up a few starting points or boundaries, and then the process creates many possible forms that might be hard to imagine by hand. This way, buildings can have unique curves, surfaces, or spaces that fit their environment or purpose in new ways. Many designers use this approach to quickly test lots of ideas, see how forms behave, and pick the ones that work best for their project goals.

parametric design, digital morphogenesis, architectural geometry, computational modeling, spatial optimization, environmental adaptation
