General Electric Healthcare Interior Design

General Electric Healthcare Interior design is an innovative workplace interior design project completed in 2017, encompassing 4,200 square meters of office space that masterfully integrates medical imaging concepts into architectural elements. This groundbreaking design, created by Bella Ventura and Eleanor Hashalom Rondelle of Setter Architects, translates advanced healthcare technology into spatial experiences through sophisticated architectural language. The design concept draws inspiration from medical imaging technologies, particularly how they reveal different layers of human body tissues, manifesting this theme through changing elements of wood that create three-dimensional visual experiences throughout the space. The interior features a harmonious balance between private working areas, public spaces, meeting rooms, and laboratories, all unified under a 4.5-meter ceiling height that enhances spatial perception. The design's distinctive characteristic lies in its innovative approach to combining technological advancement with natural materials, creating a unique visual narrative where architectural elements, such as wooden benches, emerge from various segments and textures, metaphorically revealing workspaces as if exploring internal organs. This award-winning design, recognized with the Golden A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, successfully addresses the challenge of creating an open-plan workspace that maintains both privacy and transparency while reflecting the technological sophistication of healthcare imaging. The project's execution demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its material selection, spatial planning, and integration of technological elements, establishing a new paradigm for healthcare-related office design that promotes collaboration while preserving functional efficiency.
