Gemdale Inner Peace Marketing Center is a sophisticated marketing center that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of contemporary design aesthetics with traditional Chinese cultural elements. Completed in July 2018, this 550-square-meter space showcases an innovative architectural approach through its structured column network that elegantly divides the area into three distinct yet interconnected functional zones. The design, conceived by David Ma, employs extremely modern continuous curves and incorporates the symbolic elements of tea and water waves to create a serene, culturally resonant environment. The center's distinctive features include a dramatic entrance axis highlighted by grey mirrors forming a mirror lake effect, complemented by drop-like chandeliers that create an ethereal atmosphere. The meeting area's tea room demonstrates exceptional attention to detail with its ceiling seamlessly transitioning into walls adorned with salmon roe-inspired round holes, while custom tea tables integrate harmoniously with the modern curvilinear forms. The book bar, positioned opposite to the tea room, presents a lighter aesthetic treatment while maintaining the wave-shaped motif in its ceiling and wall design. This Silver A' Design Award-winning project in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category masterfully addresses the challenge of functional integration within a limited space while achieving a delicate balance between modern architectural elements and traditional Chinese design sensibilities. The exterior features transformed white wavy louvers that both command visual attention and evoke the purity of flowing water, demonstrating the project's commitment to creating a contemporary interpretation of Chinese landscape aesthetics.
