Gemdale Green Legend Residential Apartments

Gemdale Green Legend Residential Apartments

Gemdale Green Legend Residential Apartments is an innovative residential landscape project completed in Shanghai in 2020, distinguished by its unique approach to creating a child-inspired urban living environment. The design concept revolves around creating a childlike kingdom of sunflowers, incorporating artistic elements that evoke memories of childhood while maintaining a sophisticated Nordic aesthetic. The 1,543-square-meter development features distinctive geometric LED luminous floor tiles that create an engaging pathway system, becoming progressively denser to guide residents and visitors toward the central areas. The project's architectural and landscape design seamlessly integrates urban interface elements with interactive spaces through a carefully planned series of emotional rhythms, transitioning from open urban spaces to more intimate community areas. Notable design elements include strategically placed sunflower sculptures, both at the street corner and near the entrance, serving as artistic focal points that embody the project's theme of innocence and artistic urban living. The development overcame significant spatial challenges through innovative design solutions, including the implementation of a low-profile cut landscape wall that effectively manages height differences while maintaining visual connectivity. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Landscape Planning and Garden Design category in 2021, exemplifies a successful fusion of practical urban residential design with artistic expression, featuring embedded stone lamps and floor tile illumination that create a harmonious environment while serving both aesthetic and functional purposes. The design team, led by Tian Zheng and Zhang Xiang, successfully transformed a traditional residential complex into an art life experience pavilion, incorporating fashion-forward elements while maintaining a warm, community-oriented atmosphere that resonates with younger demographics seeking a unique living experience.
