Gemdale Casa Oia Sales Center is an innovative architectural interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of natural elements with contemporary spatial design, completed in 2020 in Beihai, China. This 1,060-square-meter sales center masterfully incorporates the essence of its coastal location through a sophisticated interpretation of sea waves and maritime elements, utilizing minimalist design language to create a fluid, boundary-transcending space. The design concept draws profound inspiration from the local environment and cultural context, particularly focusing on the interplay between mountain and sea motifs. The space is characterized by its thoughtful material palette, comprising art paint, grey stone, cement stone, and metal plate, which work in concert to create an ethereal atmosphere with rich visual layering. The interior's color scheme primarily employs black, white, and gray tones, accented with warm hues that reflect the various chromatic states of the sea under different natural conditions. A notable feature is the stone-like artworks adorning the walls, which showcase a deliberate transition between different blue shades, creating a visually striking focal point that emphasizes the space's depth and dimensionality. The project, which was honored with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional expertise in translating natural phenomena into architectural elements, particularly through its innovative use of light and shadow to simulate rippling water effects.
