Galaxy Command HQ of ACG Flagship Store is an innovative retail space design that revolutionizes the traditional brick-and-mortar shopping experience for anime, comic, and gaming (ACG) enthusiasts. Located in Taipei, Taiwan, this 232-square-meter flagship store represents a groundbreaking approach to experiential retail design, earning recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category. The design employs a sophisticated narrative methodology that transforms the space into an immersive, multi-universe concept, featuring five distinct zones: a feature exhibition lobby, customer service reception, accessories display armament centre, identity-transforming Muse Room, and a multi-reflective tunnel city exterior. The interior architecture masterfully incorporates manga graphics and reflective materials to create an unpredictable environment where time and stories overlap, effectively bridging the gap between digital and physical retail experiences. The space's innovative design challenges conventional retail layouts by organizing product displays through storytelling rather than traditional merchandising approaches, utilizing strong visual tensions through solid color schemes to emphasize the multi-verse concept. This thoughtful approach not only elevates the shopping experience but also addresses the complex challenge of displaying diverse ACG-related products in an organized and engaging manner. The project, completed between October 2020 and May 2021, demonstrates exceptional understanding of contextual marketing and consumer behavior, particularly in relation to ACG culture and its dedicated fan base, creating an environment that celebrates individual expression while maintaining professional retail functionality.
