GABLE HOUSE Residential Farm House Project
GABLE HOUSE Residential Farm House Project is an exemplary architectural achievement that showcases the harmonious integration of tropical design elements within a contemporary farmhouse setting. Located on a expansive three-acre riverside plot near Surat, India, this 12,000-square-foot residential structure represents a sophisticated interpretation of leisure architecture, distinguished by its prominent gabled roof design that pays homage to tropical architectural traditions. The three-story structure's most remarkable feature is its elevated second-story swimming pool with a floating gazebo, which serves as the focal point of the entire design composition. The architectural language employs a thoughtful material palette including Indian black stone, metallic fins, white textured paint, traditional Mangalore tiles, and wood elements, creating a cohesive aesthetic that bridges rustic charm with modern luxury. The design, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, demonstrates exceptional spatial planning with all areas oriented around the central pool feature. The project successfully overcomes significant engineering challenges, particularly in the implementation of the elevated pool design despite high groundwater levels in the riverside location. The exterior is enhanced by iron-crafted metallic fins that encompass the structure, contributing to both its aesthetic appeal and functional requirements. This tropical-inspired residence, completed in 2015, exemplifies innovative architectural solutions in creating a resort-like atmosphere while maintaining residential functionality, effectively transforming an agricultural plot into a sophisticated retreat that fulfills its owner's vision of a permanent vacation-style living space.
