Fun Switch Easy To Use
Fun switch Easy to use is an innovative electrical switch design that revolutionizes traditional light control mechanisms by incorporating dual operational modes - a pull-down rope system and a sliding circular button interface. Developed by designers Zan Su, Lei Xu, Lei Zhang, and He Ma at the Zhengzhou University of Light Industry between October 2016 and January 2017, this homeware design solution addresses common accessibility challenges in conventional switch systems. The design features a compact form factor measuring 110mm x 100mm x 20mm and is constructed using durable PC material. Its distinctive dual-control mechanism comprises a child-friendly rope system that can be pulled downward, making it accessible for users of different heights, particularly children who might struggle with standard wall-mounted switches. The circular sliding mechanism introduces an intuitive and engaging way to control lighting, with clear directional indicators for on/off functions, enhancing user experience through its tactile interface. This human-centered design approach demonstrates considerable attention to ergonomics and universal accessibility principles, effectively combining functionality with an element of playful interaction. The design earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Building Materials and Construction Components Design category in 2017, acknowledging its innovative contribution to everyday home infrastructure.
