Francisco de Zurbarán was a hugely influential Spanish painter from the seventeenth century. He is widely acclaimed for works such as 'Christ on the Cross', 'The Immaculate Conception', 'Saint Margaret', 'St. Francis in Meditation' and 'The Adoration of the Shepherds'. His realistic style of painting and vivid use of colours distinguish him as one of the most recognisable Spanish Baroque painters to this day.
