Forte Forte Roma Retail Design
Forte Forte Roma Retail Design is an exemplary retail interior design project located in the historic Campo Marzio district of Rome, conceived and executed by Swiss Creative Director Robert Vattilana in collaboration with Giada Forte. This sophisticated retail space, completed in October 2020, represents a masterful synthesis of contemporary design elements with the rich historical context of its location. The design's centerpiece is its innovative use of green onyx, a millennial stone from Afghanistan's extinct volcanic regions, which creates a striking monolithic presence while paying homage to Rome's architectural heritage. The 71-square-meter space, with 53 square meters dedicated to retail, demonstrates exceptional material articulation through large symmetrical blocks of matte-finished green onyx that extends from floors to walls, creating an immersive atmospheric experience. The design incorporates sophisticated lighting solutions, including a cascading light feature along the perimeter and geometric luminous portholes in the ceiling, while polished brass panels with distinctive brass stitching detail compose the back wall. The boutique's intimate spaces include boudoir-style fitting rooms finished in sage-colored capitonné velvet, accessed through brass-hinged doors with distinctive porthole features. This project, which won an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2022, exemplifies excellence in retail design through its harmonious blend of luxurious materials, thoughtful space planning, and respect for historical context, all while overcoming the challenges of working within a protected historic building during global pandemic conditions.
