Formula Store

Formula Store

Formula Store is an innovative retail coffee establishment that exemplifies contemporary architectural and interior design principles, distinguished by its striking 6.5-meter-high independent building structure and extensive window installations. The design, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, masterfully integrates geometric elements and sophisticated material choices to create a distinctive brand experience. The exterior features a thoughtfully composed palette of greenish-grey metal corrugated boards and weather-resistant white granite paint, enhanced by backlit signage that creates compelling visual layering. The interior space, spanning approximately 305 square meters, showcases a harmonious blend of soft white tones and abundant wooden textures, complemented by metallic lighting fixtures and a carefully curated brand identity. A notable design element includes triangular 3D geometric forms that symbolically reference the specialized ice drip coffee preparation method, creating a visual narrative that connects the space's aesthetic to its function. The design addresses commercial dining challenges through strategic spatial planning, incorporating an efficient work zone layout that enhances customer-staff interactions while maintaining operational flexibility. Environmental considerations are evident in the thoughtful inclusion of a semi-alfresco area with mirror installations that reflect the surrounding foliage, creating a dynamic interplay between interior and exterior spaces. The project, completed in 2021 in Taichung City, Taiwan, demonstrates exceptional attention to both aesthetic and functional requirements, successfully balancing customer comfort, brand identity, and operational efficiency within its architectural framework.
