Foothill residence Reside is an innovative six-floor single-family villa that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of contemporary architectural design with traditional Chinese cultural elements. Located in Hangzhou, China, this exceptional residential project encompasses 650 square meters of living space, featuring a unique architectural layout with four floors above ground and two subterranean levels, all connected by an elevator system. The design brilliantly challenges conventional perceptions of basement spaces by implementing innovative solutions to overcome typical issues of darkness, moisture, and poor air circulation through strategic spatial reconstruction and thoughtful architectural interventions. The interior design philosophy draws profound inspiration from Chinese cultural elements, incorporating features such as bridges, waterfalls, and dry landscape elements that create a sophisticated interplay between indoor and outdoor spaces. A notable feature is the integration of a water circulation system in the atrium, which not only enhances environmental sustainability but also pays homage to Hangzhou's water-centric cultural heritage.
