Folks Patisserie Cafe is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious balance between contemporary aesthetics and traditional Ukrainian cultural elements. Located in Uzhgorod, Ukraine, this 110-square-meter establishment represents a sophisticated approach to modern patisserie design, completed in 2018. The interior space is thoughtfully divided into distinct functional zones, including a welcome area, fast-drinking coffee section, and relaxing spaces for extended visits, all unified through innovative design elements. The space's defining features include brass profile floor patterns that serve as intuitive wayfinding elements, drawing inspiration from traditional Ukrainian cultural motifs. The design achieves a remarkable equilibrium through the juxtaposition of contrasting materials - marble murals alongside rough concrete walls, and brass tubes that facilitate natural light transmission between zones. A centrally positioned fireplace serves as the spatial anchor, from which all facing materials radiate outward. The project's success lies in its careful consideration of customer behavior patterns, incorporating elements that enhance both functionality and emotional resonance. The design philosophy, inspired by F.S. Fitzgerald's perspective on celebration, manifests in luxurious details such as gold suspensions and brass accents that elevate everyday coffee rituals into memorable experiences. This innovative approach to hospitality design earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial planning, material selection, and cultural integration.
