Fluent Time Residential Interior Design
Fluent Time Residential Interior Design is an innovative residential interior design project that masterfully blends industrial aesthetics with refined living spaces, created by Ming-Hong Tsai for a newlywed couple's townhouse in Taichung, Taiwan. The 66-square-meter space exemplifies a sophisticated interpretation of loft-style design, distinguished by its thoughtful integration of industrial elements with comfortable domestic living. The design's journey begins at the garage, where craggy brick walls, salvaged-wood flooring, and strategic rail lighting establish a compelling industrial atmosphere that flows seamlessly into the main living areas. Notable for its delicate balance between raw industrial elements and refined residential comfort, the project employs a carefully curated selection of materials including steel square pipes, stainless steel, brick, wood veneering, black steel plates, and expanded metal sheets. The design demonstrates particular innovation in its lighting solutions, incorporating hidden strip lighting and custom wooden box fixtures that enhance spatial perception and ambiance. A significant technical achievement of the project involves the successful reorganization of the pipeline system to accommodate the relocated toilet adjacent to the kitchen, working within the constraints of the existing stairway structure. The project, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2019, showcases exceptional spatial planning that transforms traditional industrial design elements into a sophisticated living environment, featuring an open kitchen countertop with broken filament surface steel that exemplifies the project's commitment to refined craftsmanship and attention to detail.
