Flow Of Zen Residential House
Flow of Zen Residential House is an exemplary residential interior design project completed in 2020 in Yilan City, Taiwan, masterfully crafted by designer Ying Chih Yang. This sophisticated dwelling, strategically positioned against a mountain backdrop with views of the ocean and island, represents a harmonious fusion of natural elements and contemporary design principles. The 126-square-meter space encompasses an entrance, living room, dining room, kitchen, balcony, and three bedrooms with two bathrooms, each area thoughtfully conceived to maximize both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The design's distinctive character emerges through its innovative use of marble, which serves as a central design element throughout the interior, creating an atmosphere of understated luxury and elegance. The project demonstrates exceptional material orchestration, combining black series marble, titanium-plated metal, solid wood teak flooring, and various sophisticated finishes to achieve a cohesive design language. Notable features include the linear traffic flow connecting the living and dining areas, allowing natural light to permeate the space, while curved architectural elements and warm lighting create an inviting ambiance. The interior's sophisticated design philosophy is evident in its careful balance of textures and materials, where wood and marble complementarity generates a warm, cozy atmosphere, and the thoughtful integration of existing furniture pieces demonstrates sustainable design practices. This project, recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2021, exemplifies excellence in residential interior design through its masterful space utilization, material selection, and attention to detail.
