Floor Stripping Or Cleaning Preparation

Floor Stripping Or Cleaning Preparation

Floor stripping or cleaning preparation refers to the process of removing old wax, dirt, and other contaminants from a floor surface in preparation for the application of new wax or finish. This process is typically performed on hard surfaces such as vinyl, linoleum, and tile floors in commercial and industrial settings, but can also be used in residential settings. The process of floor stripping involves the use of a chemical stripper that is applied to the floor surface and left to penetrate for a period of time. The stripper breaks down the old wax and other contaminants, allowing them to be easily removed with a floor machine equipped with a stripping pad. Once the old wax and contaminants have been removed, the floor is rinsed thoroughly with clean water to remove any remaining residue. Cleaning preparation, on the other hand, involves the use of a cleaner to remove dirt, grime, and other contaminants from the floor surface. This process is typically performed on a regular basis to maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the floor. The cleaner is applied to the floor surface and left to penetrate for a period of time before being agitated with a floor machine equipped with a scrubbing pad. Once the dirt and grime have been removed, the floor is rinsed thoroughly with clean water to remove any remaining residue. Proper floor stripping or cleaning preparation is essential to maintaining the appearance and longevity of a floor surface. Failure to properly prepare the floor surface can result in poor adhesion of the new wax or finish, leading to premature wear and damage to the floor surface.
