Flexibility Residence
Flexibility Residence is an innovative interior design project that reimagines urban living through its revolutionary approach to space utilization in a 125-square-meter apartment. This groundbreaking residential design, which earned the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design category, challenges traditional spatial conventions by implementing a highly adaptable open-plan layout. The design's cornerstone feature is its sophisticated system of glass and steel sliding partitions, which ingeniously divide the space into distinct private and communal zones while maintaining spatial fluidity. The residence incorporates a thoughtfully curated material palette, featuring warm black and deep blue walls, complemented by natural timber elements that create a harmonious and serene atmosphere. The design deliberately minimizes the television's prominence, departing from conventional Taiwanese residential layouts to foster enhanced social interaction. The space encompasses an entrance, living room, kitchen, dining room, master bedroom, dressing room, and guest room, all seamlessly integrated through the innovative partition system. The project's success is particularly evident in its transformation of daily living patterns, encouraging residents to spend more time at home and facilitating stronger social connections. The design's sophisticated use of reflective surfaces creates intriguing visual perspectives, while its material selection of natural elements like stone, concrete, wood, and glass ensures longevity and timeless appeal. This award-winning project, completed in 2017, exemplifies how contemporary interior design can effectively balance flexibility, functionality, and aesthetic refinement while responding to the evolving needs of urban living.
