Flava Plywood And Veneer Showroom

Flava Plywood And Veneer Showroom

Flava Plywood and Veneer Showroom is an innovative retail interior design project located in Bangalore, India, that exemplifies the sophisticated integration of parametric design principles with functional commercial space requirements. This 3,500-square-foot showroom, completed in 2022, represents a significant advancement in exhibition space design through its implementation of fractal Voronoi patterns and thoughtful spatial organization across two levels. The design's distinctive approach employs a monochromatic palette centered on birch plywood and grey epoxy flooring, creating a cohesive visual narrative that dissolves traditional boundaries between walls, floors, and ceilings. The showroom's most notable feature is its tessellated dynamic geometry ceiling system, which incorporates concealed lighting elements and creates organic subdivisions of space while maintaining an open floor plan. Strategic placement of feature elements throughout the space generates discrete discussion areas without compromising the overall spatial flow. The design successfully addresses the challenge of displaying plywood and veneer products through a sophisticated architectural language that balances form and function, earning recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category. The project's innovative use of computational design tools enabled precise control over complex geometries, while the implementation of a point coordinate system facilitated accurate on-site construction of challenging architectural elements. This showroom demonstrates how contemporary retail spaces can transcend their industrial surroundings to create immersive, sculptural experiences that enhance product presentation while maintaining practical functionality.
