Ferdy Coffee And Side Table

Ferdy Coffee And Side Table

Ferdy Coffee and Side Table is an innovative furniture design piece created by Italian designer Daniele Mezzetti that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of form and function in contemporary furniture design. This sophisticated side table, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2021, features a distinctive three-tiered construction with an inclined frame inspired by the aesthetic of flags flying at public institutions. The design's unique architectural composition incorporates multiple materials, combining a matte satin-painted metal structure with marble elements for the top and base, complemented by a wooden central level. The table's dimensions of 72mm in length, 350mm in width, and 930mm in height are carefully calculated to provide optimal functionality while maintaining its striking visual appeal. Conceived during the first COVID-19 lockdown in Rome in April 2020, the design demonstrates exceptional versatility in its ability to complement various seating arrangements, particularly sofas and chairs, while offering practical storage and display surfaces across its three horizontal levels. The contrasting relationship between the straight horizontal shelving and the dynamic inclined frame creates a compelling visual tension that distinguishes it from conventional side table designs. The piece exemplifies the intersection of Italian craftsmanship and contemporary design sensibilities, utilizing high-quality materials and precise manufacturing techniques to achieve both aesthetic excellence and functional durability.
