Fei River Central Smart Garden Library Library

Fei River Central Smart Garden Library Library

Fei River Central Smart Garden Library Library is an innovative architectural masterpiece situated along the South Fei River in the core financial business development area of Hefei, China, exemplifying a harmonious integration of contemporary public lifestyle with urban planning. This Gold A' Design Award-winning structure, completed in 2018, spans 1,760 square meters and represents a revolutionary approach to public space design through its sophisticated blend of form and function. The building's distinctive design emerges from a fundamental cube shape, transformed through reduction and overlay techniques to create a dynamic curved interface that responds sensitively to its surroundings. The structure employs a thoughtful color palette of black, white, and gray, complemented by warm brown tones, while its innovative use of glass and water features creates an illusion of a floating island within the urban landscape. The library's architectural composition features a center-clustered structure that seamlessly integrates with the surrounding urban green axis, establishing a natural green lung for the community. The building's technical sophistication is evident in its 2.1-meter arc wall design, which maintains optimal facade proportions and visual perception, while its large-span, column-free space demonstrates both aesthetic excellence and energy efficiency. The interior design orchestrates a sophisticated interplay between primary and secondary courtyards, creating a harmonious reading environment that reduces eye strain through natural lighting and strategic space planning. The structure's dual-facade treatment - featuring high-transparent glass on the first floor and frosted glass on the second - creates a nuanced relationship between public and private spaces, while the integration of city squares, roof terraces, and landscape nodes forms a comprehensive system that promotes social interaction and community engagement.
