Feather Residence

Feather Residence

Feather Residence is an award-winning residential interior design project completed in 2021 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, that exemplifies innovative spatial transformation and minimalist aesthetic principles. The design masterfully converts a conventional two-story building into an open-plan maisonette, addressing the challenges of low ceiling heights and complex partitions through thoughtful architectural intervention. The 110.6-square-meter space showcases a sophisticated interplay of black and white color palettes, creating visual cohesion and spatial purity. The design's distinctive features include meander-style stairs that create visual fluidity, strategically embedded lighting systems that enhance spatial perception, and the innovative use of level changes between the living room and balcony. The interior employs light wooden floor panels that contrast effectively with white walls, ceilings, and cabinetry, establishing a harmonious balance between warmth and modernism. Environmental consciousness is evident in the selection of green materials for flooring and wall coatings, while smart light switches and efficient linear lighting systems minimize energy consumption. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its execution, particularly in the subtle delineation of functional zones through color transitions and the integration of lighting elements that transform spatial limitations into aesthetic advantages.
