Eseje O Niepodległej Anniversary Book

Eseje O Niepodległej Anniversary Book

Eseje o Niepodległej Anniversary Book is a meticulously crafted commemorative publication designed by Aleksandra Toborowicz to celebrate the centennial of Poland's independence restoration, exemplifying excellence in contemporary book design through its sophisticated minimalist approach and thoughtful material selection. The 576-page volume, completed in 2018, masterfully integrates national symbolism with modern design sensibilities, featuring a refined color palette that references Poland's national colors through an elegant interpretation - employing silver in place of white on the cover, paired with strategic red accents throughout the publication. The book's distinguished design elements include a hardbound cover utilizing Gmund Cover Metalic paper, enhanced by hotstamping techniques with Arctic Matt Silver foil and blind stamping, while the interior pages are printed on premium Alto 1.2 Satine paper. The typography demonstrates particular historical sensitivity through the use of Bona Nova, a digitalized Polish font originally created in 1971, complemented by P22 Cezanne Pro for decorative elements. The 170 x 240 mm format houses a collection of scholarly essays, with the design incorporating sophisticated pagination, carefully considered title page layouts, and thoughtfully framed photographs and illustrations. The project, which earned a Gold A' Design Award in the Print and Published Media Design category, represents a harmonious blend of national heritage and contemporary design principles, establishing new standards in anniversary publication design through its attention to detail, material quality, and symbolic resonance.
