ErnteZeit Restaurant is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of nature-inspired aesthetics with contemporary dining functionality, completed in Berlin in 2018. The establishment's name, derived from the German term for 'harvest time,' reflects its fundamental philosophy of celebrating healthy nourishment through thoughtful spatial design. The interior architecture masterfully combines organic materials and earth tones with sophisticated metallic accents, creating an immersive dining environment that evokes the sensation of al fresco dining within an enclosed space. The design, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, features custom-designed furniture elements including bespoke dining tables, benches, and a distinctive bar adorned with emerald green tiles in a herringbone pattern. The space spans approximately 65 square meters and incorporates strategically placed plants that serve both aesthetic and symbolic purposes, visually representing the restaurant's commitment to fresh, organic ingredients. Notable design elements include copper-like wooden bar shelves that double as art installations, and a unique patina wall created using specialized techniques. The restaurant's interior successfully overcomes significant architectural challenges, particularly concerning ventilation requirements in a heritage-protected building, while maintaining its design integrity. The space is enhanced by multifunctional elements, including a copper barrier that serves both practical and aesthetic purposes, and incorporates modern amenities such as strategically placed electrical outlets to accommodate urban professionals and students from nearby universities. The design demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, extending to typically overlooked areas such as restrooms, which are transformed into focal points of the interior design scheme.
