Emporio Retail Store is an innovative 4,000-square-meter retail space dedicated to exploring ceramic surfaces, sanitary ware, and contemporary bath culture, designed by architects Arun Tillak and Mohammad Favas in Kochi, India. This groundbreaking interior design project, completed in 2018, represents a paradigm shift in retail experience design by seamlessly integrating physical and digital interactions to showcase various aspects of bathing rituals and wellness products. The space's architecture responds organically to the site geometry, creating an immersive environment where visitors can explore different bathing cultures and product ranges through both tactile and virtual experiences. Distinguished by its sophisticated integration of virtual reality and interactive touch screens, the store enables customers to engage with products in unprecedented ways, earning recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category. The design philosophy, inspired by the concept that bathrooms of the future have no doors, manifests in an open, flowing layout that challenges traditional retail conventions. The interior architecture employs carefully selected materials, colors, and textures, complemented by nuanced lighting design to create distinct atmospheric zones that reflect each brand's unique identity while maintaining a cohesive overall experience.
