Emperor UA Sparks Cinema is a groundbreaking cinematic entertainment space located in Foshan, China, exemplifying innovative interior design through its sophisticated integration of geometric patterns, lighting, and spatial dynamics. This 6,034-square-meter facility represents a revolutionary approach to cinema design, featuring a distinctive aesthetic characterized by black and white tones complemented by natural light penetrating through strategically placed skylights. The design concept draws inspiration from various cinematic elements, incorporating elements reminiscent of classical Chinese films and contemporary storytelling, manifested through an intricate interplay of materials including stone, wood, steel, and acoustic panels. The space is distinguished by its ceiling modules featuring triangle and rhombus patterns that create a kaleidoscopic effect, while stainless steel strips intersect white marble flooring to reflect an artistic impression of flying paper pieces. The interior journey progresses through carefully orchestrated spaces, beginning with irregular-shaped structures crafted from black oak timber strips, leading to a sophisticated ticket counter seamlessly integrated with digital displays. The design, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, masterfully addresses acoustic requirements through thoughtful material selection and architectural elements. The cinema's aesthetic evolves from the entrance to the theatre areas, transitioning from light-filled spaces to more dramatic, darker environments featuring wavy white marble corridors and black oak finishes that create a sophisticated atmosphere reminiscent of thunderbolts in interior spaces.
