Elegant Empire Residential
Elegant Empire Residential is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies sophisticated modern living through its thoughtful integration of curved architectural elements and luxurious materials. Located in New Taipei City, Taiwan, this 366-square-meter residence, completed in February 2023, represents a masterful transformation of two separate flats into a cohesive single-family dwelling. Designed by Yu-Shan Liu, the project showcases an innovative approach to spatial flow, featuring gracefully curved archways and sophisticated architectural elements that seamlessly connect different areas while maintaining distinct functional zones. The design's signature aesthetic is characterized by the extensive use of antique brushed brass, which creates a unified visual language throughout both public and private spaces, lending a timeless elegance to the interior. The four-bedroom residence, designed for a family of four, incorporates en-suite bathrooms, demonstrating exceptional space planning despite the structural challenges of the building's original configuration. The open-plan kitchen and living area serves as the heart of the home, facilitating family interaction and social gatherings while maintaining a sophisticated aesthetic appeal. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, is particularly notable for its successful resolution of complex architectural challenges, including the integration of extensive metalwork while maintaining stylistic coherence. The design philosophy prioritizes the concept of effortless living, manifested through thoughtfully planned spaces that balance openness with intimacy, functionality with aesthetics, and modern luxury with comfortable livability.
