Electric Meets Reality In Store Experience Wall
Electric Meets Reality In Store Experience Wall is an innovative interactive architectural installation that seamlessly combines physical sculpture with augmented reality projection mapping to create an engaging educational retail experience. This sophisticated design integration, created by Mark Boey and recognized with a Golden A' Design Award in the Advertising, Marketing and Communication Design category, represents a groundbreaking approach to addressing consumer concerns about electric vehicles through immersive storytelling. The installation consists of a 6500mm by 2000mm sculptural wall crafted from epoxy resin and wood, which serves as both a standalone artistic element and a canvas for dynamic projected content. The design employs three projectors and Mini Mad Mapper technology to overlay eight minutes of carefully choreographed animation onto the three-dimensional surface. The physical construction symbolizes reality while the projected elements represent electricity, creating a metaphorical dialogue between traditional and innovative automotive technologies. The installation's sophisticated technical execution involves multiple creative disciplines, including 3D printing, handcrafted sculpture work, and advanced digital animation techniques using Maya, C4D, and After Effects. This award-winning design successfully addresses four key consumer concerns about electric vehicles - range, charging, safety, and performance - through an engaging and accessible format that transforms technical information into an enchanting visual narrative. The installation's dual nature, appearing elegant in its unlit state and transforming into an interactive experience when activated, demonstrates exceptional consideration for both aesthetic and functional design principles, while its child-safe construction and non-toxic materials reflect thorough attention to public safety considerations.
