Echo Tea Set
Echo Tea Set is an innovative cultural tea set that masterfully combines traditional Chinese architectural elements with contemporary functionality. Designed by Cong Ma, this multifunctional porcelain ensemble draws its inspiration from the historic Dabao-en Temple of Buddhists in Nanjing, particularly reflecting the architectural elements of its iconic pagoda. The set features a sophisticated multi-layered design comprising four distinct components: a teapot with cups, an incense holder, a calligraphy ink plate, and a storage container, all arranged in a harmonious pyramid layout. The design's aesthetic elements thoughtfully incorporate architectural motifs, with the octahedral pot lid echoing the flying eaves of the pagoda, while the pot body and cups reference the temple's structural elements and wind bells respectively. Crafted from high-quality porcelain with celadon-glazed and metal-glazed decorations, the set is complemented by a tepid red sandalwood tray featuring traditional swastika patterns. Measuring 220mm in width, 220mm in depth, and 181mm in height, the tea set serves multiple cultural functions beyond tea service, enabling users to engage in traditional practices such as calligraphy and incense appreciation. This cultural artifact, which won an Iron A' Design Award in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design category, represents a significant achievement in transforming historical architectural elements into functional daily objects, offering users a comprehensive experience of Chinese cultural traditions while maintaining contemporary relevance and practicality.
