Ecgberht Of Kent Gin Label Design

Ecgberht Of Kent Gin Label Design

Ecgberht of Kent Gin Label Design is an innovative packaging design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of historical heritage and contemporary aesthetics in beverage label design. Created in Minneapolis during 2015, this sophisticated label design for an American-style gin incorporates architectural influences from late 19th century Minnesota, combining geometric patterns with organic botanical shapes to create a visually compelling narrative. The design's distinctive approach manifests through its careful integration of textures, geometric elements, and graphic embellishments, all meticulously chosen to reflect the craft distilling process while maintaining brand coherence. The label, measuring 100 mm x 55 mm x 265 mm, employs a digital printing process enhanced with premium finishing techniques including embossing and silver foil applications, which contribute to its modern, sophisticated appearance. The design philosophy centers on the brand credo Embrace your history. Create your future, effectively bridging traditional Midwestern architectural motifs with contemporary design sensibilities. The creative team's research-driven approach explored the relationship between geometric symmetry and organic botanical forms, resulting in a harmonious grid-based composition that determines the label's precise proportions. This exceptional design achievement was recognized with a Golden A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category in 2017, acknowledging its innovative approach to visual storytelling and technical excellence in label design. The project successfully addresses the challenge of creating a fresh yet timeless aesthetic while maintaining strong connections to local heritage and craft spirits tradition.
