east and west Residential House is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies a harmonious blend of industrial and oriental design aesthetics, created to serve as a sophisticated living space for a young entrepreneur. The design philosophy centers on maximizing spatial perception through strategic minimization of solid wall partitions, employing large-sized horizontal sliding doors as concealed space dividers to enhance visual continuity and spatial flow. A distinguishing feature of the project is its sophisticated ceiling design, which incorporates a uniquely shaped wooden reflection board embedded in the center, serving as both an acoustic element and a visual focal point. The design employs a thoughtful material palette, including steel plates with natural lines installed on the main space's lateral walls to amplify spatial depth, and granite with distinct lineation patterns to establish an atmosphere of tranquility and sophistication. The project's innovative approach to space planning creates a house within a house concept through descended wooden ceiling areas, effectively delineating different functional zones while maintaining visual cohesion. This residential design, which won the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2018, successfully integrates multiple living spaces including a music listening area, a cozy industrial-style dining room, and an oriental-inspired reading room, all while maintaining a luxurious and harmonious aesthetic that caters to both social gatherings and personal relaxation.
