Duplexers

Duplexers are electronic devices that allow two-way communication over a single communication channel by separating the transmit and receive signals. They are commonly used in radio communication systems, such as mobile phones, walkie-talkies, and two-way radios, to enable simultaneous transmission and reception of signals over a shared frequency band. The primary function of a duplexer is to prevent the transmit signal from interfering with the receive signal, and vice versa. This is achieved by using a combination of filters and switches to route the signals to the appropriate path. The filters are designed to selectively pass or reject certain frequencies, while the switches are used to direct the signals to either the transmit or receive path. Duplexers come in various designs and configurations, depending on the specific application and frequency band. Some common types include cavity duplexers, which use resonant cavities to filter the signals, and surface acoustic wave (SAW) duplexers, which use acoustic waves to separate the signals. Other types include ceramic duplexers, microstrip duplexers, and waveguide duplexers. Duplexers are an essential component of many communication systems, as they enable efficient use of the available frequency spectrum. Without duplexers, separate frequency bands would need to be allocated for transmit and receive signals, which would result in inefficient use of the spectrum and increased costs.
