Drop Sauna And Drop Lodge Sauna And Small Cottage
Drop Sauna and Drop Lodge Sauna and Small Cottage is an innovative architectural design that exemplifies contemporary Finnish craftsmanship and minimalist aesthetics in outdoor wellness structures. This meticulously crafted architectural solution features a distinctive square footprint of 230 x 230 x 230 centimeters, characterized by its signature drop-shaped glass frontage that creates a compelling visual connection with the surrounding natural environment. The design employs spruce-based cross-laminated timber (CLT) as its primary construction material, chosen for its exceptional durability, environmental sustainability, and renewable properties. The structure, available in black, white, or natural wood finishes, represents a harmonious blend of form and function, incorporating warm LED lighting and quality wooden benches in its thoughtfully configured interior space. Inspired by the minimalistic beauty of Finnish nature and its thousands of lakes, this architectural creation serves as both a functional wellness space and a sculptural element in outdoor settings. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, showcases innovative spatial utilization and environmental consciousness through its prefabricated construction methodology. Developed between 2021 and 2023 in Naantali, Finland, this architectural solution addresses a market gap for minimalist Scandinavian design in outdoor wellness structures, offering a perfect sanctuary for relaxation and reconnection with nature. The design's emphasis on sustainability, coupled with its attention to detail in finishing and material selection, positions it as a significant contribution to contemporary architectural design, particularly in the realm of wellness and leisure structures.
