Dragon Child Studio Workplace Interior Design is an innovative workplace interior design project that exemplifies the fusion of avant-garde aesthetics with functional office requirements, created by designer Zhe Zhang in collaboration with team members Cheng Lyu and Qiaolian Li. Located in Beijing's Xidian Memory Innovation Park, this 250-square-meter space demonstrates a bold architectural intervention through its distinctive plug-in concept, where a contrasting metal box structure is seamlessly integrated with the existing masonry wall. The design's primary objective was to create a vibrant, technologically advanced workspace for a youth-oriented music company, emphasizing independence and avant-garde sensibilities. The project's facade features a sophisticated material palette combining brushed stainless steel panels and translucent sunshine panels in harmonious gray tones, creating a striking interplay of textures between cold metallic surfaces and ambiguous translucent elements. The interior space is enhanced by the strategic use of warm orange accents, establishing a compelling contrast with the exterior's cooler tones. Wide, transparent floor-to-ceiling windows maximize natural light and visibility, while acrylic light boxes of varying proportions adorn the metal massing, serving both aesthetic and functional purposes by illuminating the outdoor terrace activities area. The design successfully overcame site-specific challenges by maintaining regulatory compliance while maximizing the space's exhibitional qualities and iconic presence. This exceptional workplace design was recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2021, acknowledging its innovative approach to spatial design, material selection, and functional excellence.
