Downtown CitySpa Day Spa Facility
Downtown CitySpa Day Spa Facility is an innovative wellness establishment located in a meticulously renovated modernist building, distinguished by its conceptual integration of ancient and contemporary design elements. Situated within a historic city center and spanning approximately 600 square meters on the third floor, this sophisticated urban spa facility represents a harmonious fusion of archaeological inspiration and modern luxury. The design, conceived by Helen Brasinika and executed by BllendDesignOffice, masterfully plays with the dualistic nature of old and new, incorporating elements that symbolize interconnection and luxury through its architectural narrative. The facility's reception area features a striking monolithic volume treated with minerals and lava plaster, complemented by linear LED lighting that creates a dramatic temporal dialogue between contemporary and historical elements. The spatial organization revolves around a central atrium, reminiscent of ancient city dwellings, with private treatment rooms, offices, lounges, and dressing facilities thoughtfully arranged along circulation corridors. The project's technical execution involved advanced manufacturing processes, including 3D CAD and algorithmic NURBS software, CNC and 5-axis mill work technology, and sophisticated concrete reinforcement techniques. This exceptional design approach earned the facility a Silver A' Design Award in the Hospitality, Recreation, Travel and Tourism Design category, recognizing its innovative contribution to urban wellness architecture. The spa's conceptual framework draws inspiration from archaeological excavation, offering both city dwellers and travelers a unique perspective on urban life while providing premium wellness services, including herbal and jet lag treatments, in an environment that seamlessly bridges historical context with contemporary luxury.
