Dowell DoThink Chinoiserie Mansion
Dowell DoThink Chinoiserie Mansion is an innovative architectural masterpiece that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional Chinese design principles with contemporary residential architecture. Located in Hangzhou City, China, this distinguished residential complex, spanning 103,566 square meters, represents a sophisticated interpretation of Chinoiserie aesthetics in modern urban living. The development features a unique homecoming system of five-level ceremonies, drawing inspiration from ancient Chinese wealthy households, with each residence incorporating six courtyards that pay homage to traditional Jiangnan architectural style. The project's architectural language employs premium materials including stone, natural stone coating, and high-grade paint to create a unified facade that balances simplicity with sophistication. The design philosophy extends beyond mere aesthetics, incorporating thoughtful spatial layouts that prioritize privacy and comfort, while metal inlays create dynamic visual rhythms within the minimalist composition. Recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, this residential development stands out for its innovative approach to contemporary urban living while maintaining strong cultural connections. The project, completed between October 2018 and December 2021, successfully addresses the growing demand for high-quality urban dwellings by offering two distinct residential typologies: contemporary urban residences with courtyards and high-rise residences integrated within courtyard settings. The design's particular emphasis on creating comfortable spatial experiences is evident in its careful attention to scale, from the entrance landscape to the central and cluster gardens, while maintaining individual privacy through independent courtyards for each household.
