Another notable work was Portable Environment, an interactive sculptural installation that allowed viewers to enter and interact with the artwork. Davis was also a prolific writer and critic, contributing to a wide range of publications, including Artforum, Art in America, and The New York Times. He was an early advocate of video art and was instrumental in the development of the medium. He produced several video works, including The Last Nine Minutes, which was broadcast on television in 1977. Despite his many achievements, Davis remained humble and committed to his art.
